If you've entered the wrong password multiple times in your WD ProxKey USB Token and now it's locked, don’t panic. This guide will help you unlock your WD ProxKey token password quickly using the official tool.

🔐 What Is WD ProxKey?

WD ProxKey is one of the most widely used USB tokens for storing Digital Signature Certificates (DSC). It ensures the secure use of digital signatures for Income Tax filing, eTenders, DGFT, MCA21, and other compliance activities.

🚫 When Does the Token Get Locked?

The token automatically gets locked after 5 incorrect password attempts to protect your certificate. Once locked, you’ll see an error like “Token Locked” or “Token is not accessible”.

🔓 How to Unlock WD ProxKey Token Password (Step-by-Step)

  1. Download WD ProxKey Unlock Tool:
    Visit the official site or use the download link provided by your DSC provider. Or click here to go to WatchData's official website.
  2. Insert the Locked Token:
    Plug in the locked WD ProxKey token into your USB port.
  3. Open the ProxKey Tool:
    Run the WD ProxKey utility and navigate to the "Unlock" or "Initialize" option.
  4. Enter Admin PIN:
    You’ll need the Admin PIN (provided by your DSC provider at the time of issuance). Usually it’s something like `12345678` (unless changed).
  5. Reset New Password:
    Set a new password of your choice (minimum 8 characters, with 1 number and 1 special character recommended).
  6. Confirm and Restart:
    Click "Unlock" or "OK", and restart the token utility. Your DSC is now accessible with the new password!
